Card Making Ideas

There are many, many different ideas for what you can use in your card making. I don't want to overwhelm you, so we'll start with some simpler techniques for Card Making.

Thinking back to that good old 80/20 rule (and if you need a refresher, head back to the Home page). My goal is going to be to demonstrate techniques that use the tools and supplies I use the most. My crafting room looks like a hobby store exploded in it - which is not a practice you want to follow.

So with that in mind, I've taken inventory of the things I use most often and those are the things you'll see me demonstrating on this site for the most part. Occasionally I may throw in something a little off-the-wall for you. But the goal is not to blow all of your money on tools you only use once in a while. Save up for the good, tried-and-true items and you'll never go wrong!

Here are some of the techniques you'll find on this site:

Valentine's Day Cards  - Not so much techniques, but some cute cards!

Stamping off - Get several colors out of one ink pad...

Punch Happy - Punch it out!

Kissing - The name says it all... or does it?

Emboss Resist - You can't resist this fun technique!

Flowering Heart Card - Turn a few little hearts into a sweet looking flower

Joseph's Coat - A unique technique with a unique name

Shaker Cards - Shake it up a bit...

Adding Eyelets to your projects - So easy; so fun!

Sour Cream Container - Not the kind you are thinking of though.

Using Buttons as Embellishments - button, button, who's got the button? Oh yeah - it's on my card!

Using Punches - a simple technique with a 'one-two' impact.

Circle cutting - because they are so much fun and there are so many ways to do it!

Stitching your cards - who says sewing is just for fabric?

Coloring an image - beautiful, elegant and so artistic.

Paper layering - an easy way to add color to your projects.

Stickers - not just for kids anymore!

Dry Embossing - such an elegant effect...

Heat Embossing - break out the heat tools because we're going to melt some embossing powder!

Chalking - very cool technique and so easy to do.

And finally...

Finishing touches - you can't just leave your card plain, now, can you?

Lined Envelopes - the simplest, easiest way to pretty up an envelope!

Each one of these ideas starts with your Simple Card Base or card base using a paper trimmer.
