Digital Images
Digital Images are a fun and inexpensive way of providing a huge
assortment of pictures without the issues of storage space.
Well, maybe that's just an issue for me...
The great thing about these images is that you can get them from a lot
of different places. They are often just a few dollars to
download to your computer. Sometimes you can even find them
for free! From there you can resize and print them, and then
color them in, cut them out, and any number of other fun things you can
think of to do with them.
Tools Needed
for this project:
- Digital Image - downloaded and printed on white cardstock
- Markers
- Simple
Card Base & Envelope
- Layering paper
- Ribbon
- Stamp image
- Ink pad
- Scissors
- Adhesive (not pictured - it was off fetching me a coffee)
Step 1: Print
your downloaded image onto white cardstock and then trim it down to the
desired size for your card. This adorable little guy was from
Bugaboostamps - and he was free! I love cute; and I
especially love cute and free!
Step 2: Color
in the image, starting with the lightest color first. This
makes it easier to go back over any mistakes you might make along the
way.

He's starting to look like a monkey, isn't he?

Now a little bit of red to coordinate with the color of the cardstock...

... and a pop of green on that flower stem. What a little
darling monkey that is!
Step 3:
Okay, no more monkeying around. (You knew that was coming,
didn't you?) The next step is to stamp the colored cardstock to give it
a little bit of interest. An easy way to add dimension to a
flat piece of cardstock is by using a small stamp and the same color
ink as the cardstock.
This color, by the way, is Stampin' Up! 'Real Red' and boy is it!
Step 4: Ink
up the stamp and stamp in a pattern across the cardstock.
It's supposed to look random, but I find the easiest way to
do it is start with a diagonal line up the middle and fill in from
there.

Here's how it looks when it's done. It's good to take some of
the stamps off the page - just make sure you've got some scrap paper
down before you go over the edge of the cardstock.
Step 5: Next
we're going to take the ribbon and make a knot in it. Grab a
piece of ribbon, around a foot long, and a pair of scissors.
Step 6: Pull
the ends of the ribbon together and tie a knot.
Remember "Right over left; left over right" as you tie it and you'll
always have a nice looking knot.
Step 7: Cut
the ribbon so you have enough to wrap around the sides of the
cardstock. I like it when things are a little off-center, so
I intentionally cut closer on one side of the knot. Then
adhere the ribbon to the back of the cardstock.
Step 8: Now
adhere your colored cardstock to the white card base.
Step 9: Finally,
adhere the image to the colored cardstock. So cute!

And here's the card after I added a sentiment to it.
This little guy is definitely staying in my image library to be used
again and again!
